Preparing For Closing

  • Make financial arrangements (mortgage, transfer funds, etc).
  • Hire an attorney.
  • Purchase homeowner's insurance.
  • Have property surveyed unless mortgage lender has arranged this.
  • Arrange for termite or other inspection.
  • Know your closing costs (RESPA statement).
  • Make a final walk-through.
  • Have bank check prepared for closing, as requires.
  • Make sure deed is recorded after closing.
